Technical Lead

As our next Technical Lead, you will drive project implementation and strategy, working across back-end technologies to advance progressive, responsive, and high-performing website builds. Partnering closely with clients and internal teams, you will review, develop, and implement technical client applications. As part of being the Lead on these initiatives, you are responsible for creating solutions and/or directing developers on the solutions to be implemented.

Although you will not directly manage people, you’ll play a lead role on projects, requiring ongoing development of leadership capabilities. You will actively develop self-awareness capabilities and regularly seek feedback from diverse perspectives, applying feedback to support your growth and development.

This role will ideally be based in the Chicagoland area, but we are open to remote locations across the U.S. and Canada.

Core Responsibilities
  • Participate in the implementation, testing, and support of web-based projects.
  • Engineer solutions for performance, maintainability, and efficiency, while also creating beautiful end-user experiences.
  • Be a primary contributor to the testing process and provide issue fixes as needed.
  • Improve solutions to reduce technical debt, optimize applications, and investigate and architect improvements for feature updates.
  • Utilize your deep knowledge of the .NET page lifecycle/MVC, including object-oriented programming concepts, browser compatibility considerations, and web performance optimization tools.
  • Nurture and mentor new members of the Technology team.
  • Successfully lead other developers in developing web solutions.
  • Recommend and consult with high-profile clients on projects of varying size/scope.

Required Experience
  • Development experience in an agency or consultancy (3 years or more)
  • Expert in .NET MVC, ASP.NET (7 years or more)
  • Expertise with Sitecore (7 years or more)
  • Extensive use of other modern CMS systems (WordPress, Drupal, Adobe AEM, or similar) (3 years or more)
  • Experience with JavaScript, Node.JS, and frameworks (Vue.JS/React) (7 years or more)
  • Experience with HTML5, CSS3 (SASS) (7 years or more)
  • Experience with Git (7 years or more)
  • An understanding of enterprise software development best practices (7 years or more)
  • Experience with SQL Server (3 years or more)
  • Broad knowledge of capabilities across different browsers and devices
  • Previous work with DevOps tooling and management
  • Experience in reviewing and handling complex support issues (7 years or more)
  • Experience with headless architectures

We reserve the right to pay above or below the base salary range of $113,100-$169,700 based on factors unrelated to sex, race, or any other protected classification.

Additional earnings may be available through incentive programs like annual bonuses, profit sharing, etc.
